How to Start an Event Catering Business in Dubai with Meydan Free Zone

Event catering is the most personal expression of the catering industry: a contractual commitment to deliver a specific food experience at a location chosen by the client, for an occasion that matters to them. The wedding reception in a hotel ballroom. The conference dinner for 800 delegates. The private birthday gala on a rooftop terrace. The F1 hospitality suite at Yas Marina. In each case, the caterer owns the culinary experience end to end, from menu design and food preparation through to on-site service and event logistics.

The scale of this market in Dubai is significant and growing fast. The corporate and private events segment alone served over 600,000 guests in 2025, up from 400,000 in 2024. The wedding segment served 56,554 guests. The conferences and business meetings segment served over 123,000 attendees.

The UAE catering market was valued at approximately USD 4.2 billion in 2025 and is projected to reach USD 6.5 billion or more by 2032 at approximately 6% annual growth, driven by sustained MICE investment and tourism growth. Wedding catering is the largest application sub-segment in the global catering services market by revenue, according to Technavio². The UAE’s multicultural population, expatriates constitute approximately 88% of the total, according to the World Bank, generates wedding and private event catering demand across South Asian, Arab, European, African, and East Asian culinary traditions, creating a breadth of cuisine specialisation opportunity that few markets outside the UAE can match. No Meydan Free Zone third-party pre-approval is required.
