This class covers renting and operational leasing of passenger cars (without drivers) and trucks, utility trailers and recreational vehicles (without drivers). Does not include renting or leasing of vehicles or trucks with a driver, or financial leasing.

Renting and Leasing of
Recreational and Sports Goods

This class covers renting of recreational and sports equipment including pleasure boats, canoes, sailboats, bicycles, beach chairs and umbrellas, skis and other sports equipment. Does not include renting of video tapes and disks, other personal and household goods, or leisure equipment forming an integral part of a recreational facility.

This class covers renting of video tapes, records, CDs, DVDs and similar media.

Renting and Leasing of Other Personal
and Household Goods

This class covers renting of household and personal goods to households or industries, including textiles, apparel and footwear; furniture, pottery, glass, kitchen and tableware, electrical appliances and housewares; jewellery, musical instruments, scenery and costumes; books, journals and magazines; tools and equipment for home repairs and amateur use; flowers and plants; and electronic equipment for household use. Does not include motor vehicles, recreational and sports goods, video tapes and disks, motorcycles and caravans, or office furniture.

Renting and Leasing of Other Machinery, Equipment and Tangible Goods

This class covers renting and operational leasing without operator of capital goods used by industries, including engines and turbines, machine tools, mining and oilfield equipment, professional broadcast and communications equipment, motion picture production equipment, measuring and controlling equipment, and other scientific, commercial and industrial machinery. Also covers land-transport equipment (motorcycles, caravans, railroad vehicles), water-transport equipment (commercial boats and ships), air-transport equipment (airplanes, hot-air balloons), agricultural and forestry machinery, construction and civil engineering machinery, office machinery and equipment, containers, pallets, accommodation and office containers, and animals. Does not include leasing with operator, financial leasing, pleasure boats or bicycles.

Leasing of Intellectual Property and Similar Products (Except Copyrighted Works)

This class covers allowing others to use intellectual property products in exchange for a royalty payment or licensing fee, covering patented entities, trademarks and service marks, brand names, mineral exploration and evaluation rights, and franchise agreements. Does not include acquisition of rights and publishing, producing or distributing copyrighted works such as books or software, leasing of real estate or tangible assets, renting of video tapes and disks, renting of books, or provision of linen and uniforms by laundries.

Activities of Employment Placement Agencies

This class covers listing employment vacancies and referring or placing applicants for employment where the individuals placed are not employees of the agency. Covers personnel search, selection, referral and placement including executive search, activities of casting agencies and bureaus such as theatrical casting agencies, and online employment placement agencies. Does not include activities of personal theatrical or artistic agents or agencies.

Temporary Employment
Agency Activities

This class covers supplying workers to client businesses for limited periods of time to temporarily replace or supplement the client's workforce, where the individuals supplied are employees of the temporary help service unit. Units in this class do not provide direct supervision of their employees at client work sites.

Other Reservation Service and Related Activities

This class covers provision of travel-related reservation services covering transportation, hotels, restaurants, car rentals, entertainment and sports; time-share exchange services; ticket sales for theatrical, sports and other entertainment events; visitor assistance services including travel information and tourist guide activities; and tourism promotion activities. Does not include activities of travel agencies and tour operators, or organisation and management of conventions and conferences.

Private Security Activities

This class covers provision of guard and patrol services, armoured car services for collecting and delivering money and valuables, bodyguard services, polygraph services, fingerprinting services, and security guard services. Does not include public order and safety activities.

Security Systems
Service Activities

This class covers monitoring and remote monitoring of electronic security alarm systems including burglar and fire alarms and their maintenance, and installing, repairing, rebuilding and adjusting mechanical or electronic locking devices, safes and security vaults. Units may also sell these systems. Does not include installation of security systems without subsequent monitoring, selling security products without monitoring or maintenance services, security consulting, or public order and safety activities.

Investigation
Activities

This class covers investigation and detective service activities for all private investigators, regardless of client type or purpose of investigation.

Combined Facilities
Support Activities

This class covers provision of a combination of support services within a client's facility, such as general interior cleaning, maintenance, trash disposal, guard and security, mail routing, reception, laundry and related services. Units provide operating staff to carry out support activities but are not involved in or responsible for the client's core business. Does not include provision of a single support service only, provision of management staff to operate an entire client facility, on-site IT management, or operation of correctional facilities.

Other Building and Industrial Cleaning Activities

This class covers exterior cleaning of buildings of all types; specialised cleaning including window cleaning, chimney cleaning, and cleaning of fireplaces, stoves, furnaces, incinerators, boilers, ventilation ducts and exhaust units; swimming pool cleaning and maintenance; cleaning of industrial machinery; bottle cleaning; cleaning of trains, buses, planes and road and sea tankers; disinfecting and exterminating services; and street sweeping and snow and ice removal. Does not include agriculture pest control, cleaning of sewers and drains, or automobile cleaning and car wash services.

Landscape Care and Maintenance Service Activities

This class covers planting, care and maintenance of parks and gardens for private and public housing, public buildings, municipal grounds, highway greenery, and industrial and commercial buildings; greenery for building facades, roof gardens and indoor gardens; sports grounds, playgrounds and recreational parks; water features; and plants for noise, wind and erosion protection. Also includes maintenance of land in good ecological condition. Does not include commercial plant production, tree nurseries, maintenance of agricultural land, construction landscaping, landscape design and architecture, or operation of botanical gardens.

Combined Office Administrative Service Activities

This class covers provision of a combination of day-to-day office administrative services on a contract or fee basis, including reception, financial planning, billing and record keeping, personnel administration, and physical distribution and mail services. Does not include provision of operating staff to run the complete operations of a business, or provision of a single administrative service only.

Photocopying, Document Preparation and Other Specialised Office Support Activities

This class covers document preparation, editing and proofreading; typing, word processing and desktop publishing; secretarial support and transcription services; letter and resume writing; mailbox rental and mailing activities (except direct mail advertising); photocopying, duplicating, blueprinting and other document copying services. Does not include offset or digital printing, direct mail advertising, or specialised stenotype services such as court reporting.

Activities of
Call Centres

This class covers operation of inbound call centres receiving client calls using human operators, automatic call distribution, computer-telephony integration, interactive voice response or similar methods to take orders, provide product information, handle assistance requests and manage complaints. Also covers outbound call centres using similar methods to sell or market goods or services, conduct market research or public opinion polling and similar client activities.

Organisation of Conventions and Trade Shows

This class covers organisation, promotion and management of events including business and trade shows, conventions, conferences and meetings, whether or not including management and provision of staff to operate the event facilities.

Activities of Collection Agencies and Credit Bureaus

This class covers collection of payments for claims and remittance of collected payments to clients, covering bill and debt collection services. Also covers compiling credit and employment histories on individuals and credit histories on businesses, and providing this information to financial institutions, retailers and others who need to evaluate creditworthiness.

Activities

This class covers packaging activities on a fee or contract basis, whether automated or manual, including bottling of liquids such as beverages and food, packaging of solids including blister and foil packaging, security packaging of pharmaceutical preparations, labelling, stamping and imprinting, and parcel packing and gift wrapping. Does not include manufacture of soft drinks or mineral water, or packaging activities incidental to transport.
