Activities of Other Membership Organisations (n.e.c.)

This class covers activities of organisations not directly affiliated to a political party that further a public cause or community interest through public education, political influence or fund-raising, including citizens' initiative and protest movements, environmental and ecological movements, organisations supporting community and educational facilities, organisations for the protection of special groups such as ethnic and minority groups, and patriotic and veterans' associations. Also covers consumer associations, automobile associations, social acquaintanceship associations such as rotary clubs and lodges, youth and student associations, clubs and fraternities, and associations for the pursuit of cultural, recreational or hobby activities such as poetry and literature clubs, historical clubs, gardening clubs, film and photo clubs, music and art clubs, craft and collectors' clubs, social clubs and carnival clubs. Also includes grant-giving activities by membership organisations. Does not include activities of professional artistic groups, sports clubs, or professional membership associations.

Repair of Computers and Peripheral Equipment

This class covers repair and maintenance of desktop and laptop computers, magnetic disk drives, flash drives and other storage devices, optical disk drives, printers, monitors, keyboards, mice and trackball accessories, internal and external computer modems, dedicated computer terminals, computer servers, scanners including bar code scanners, smart card readers, virtual reality helmets, computer projectors, automatic teller machines (ATMs), point-of-sale (POS) terminals, and hand-held computers (PDAs). Does not include repair of carrier equipment modems.

Repair of Communication Equipment

This class covers repair and maintenance of communications equipment including cordless and cellular phones, carrier equipment modems, fax machines, communications transmission equipment such as routers, bridges and modems, two-way radios, and commercial TV and video cameras.

Repair of Consumer Electronics

This class covers repair and maintenance of consumer electronics including television and radio receivers, video cassette recorders, CD players, and household-type video cameras.

Repair of Household Appliances and Home and Garden Equipment

This class covers repair and servicing of household appliances including refrigerators, stoves, washing machines, clothes dryers and room air conditioners, and repair and servicing of home and garden equipment including lawnmowers, edgers, snow and leaf blowers and trimmers. Does not include repair of hand-held power tools or repair of central air conditioning systems.

Repair of Footwear and Leather Goods

This class covers repair and maintenance of footwear including shoes and boots and fitting of heels, and repair and maintenance of leather goods such as luggage.

Repair of Furniture and Home Furnishings

This class covers reupholstering, refinishing, repairing and restoring of furniture and home furnishings including office furniture, and assembly of self-standing furniture. Does not include installation of fitted kitchens, shop fittings and similar.

Repair of Other Personal and Household Goods

This class covers repair of bicycles; repair and alteration of clothing; repair and alteration of jewellery; repair of watches, clocks and their parts including movements and chronometers; repair of sporting goods (except sporting guns); repair of books; repair of musical instruments; repair of toys and similar articles; piano tuning; and repair of other personal and household goods. Does not include industrial engraving of metals, repair of sporting and recreational guns, repair of hand-held power tools, or repair of time recording devices.

Washing and Dry-Cleaning of Textile and Fur Products

This class covers laundering and dry-cleaning, pressing and related processing of all kinds of clothing including fur and textiles, by mechanical equipment, by hand or by self-service coin-operated machines, for the general public or for commercial clients. Also covers laundry collection and delivery, carpet and rug shampooing, drapery and curtain cleaning on or off client premises, provision of linens and work uniforms, diaper supply services, and minor repair and alteration of garments done in connection with cleaning. Does not include renting of clothing other than work uniforms, or repair and alteration of clothing as an independent activity.

Beauty Treatment

This class covers hair washing, trimming, cutting, setting, dyeing, tinting, waving, straightening and similar services for men and women; shaving and beard trimming; and facial massage, manicure, pedicure and make-up services.

Other Personal Service Activities (n.e.c.)

This class covers activities of Turkish baths, saunas and steam baths, solariums, slimming and reducing salons, and massage salons; astrological and spiritualist activities; social activities such as escort services, dating services and marriage bureaux; pet care services including boarding, grooming, sitting and training; genealogical organisations; shoe shiners, porters and valet car parking services; and concession operation of coin-operated personal service machines such as photo booths, weighing machines, blood pressure checkers and coin-operated lockers. Does not include veterinary activities or activities of fitness centres.

Activities of Households as Employers of Domestic Personnel

This class covers activities of households in their capacity as employers of domestic personnel such as maids, cooks, waiters, valets, butlers, laundresses, gardeners, gatekeepers, stable hands, chauffeurs, caretakers, governesses, babysitters, tutors and secretaries. The services produced are consumed by the employing household. Does not include provision of cooking, gardening or similar services by independent service providers or companies.
