Orthodontic activities, the licensed provision of specialist diagnosis, treatment planning, and corrective treatment for dental and jaw alignment, serve one of the fastest-growing segments in Dubai's dental market.¹
Dubai's image-conscious, high-spending consumer base drives strong demand for fixed braces, clear aligners, and comprehensive orthodontic treatment. The growth of direct-to-consumer aligner brands has raised awareness, while complex cases and comprehensive treatment remain the domain of licensed specialist orthodontists.
For operators, orthodontic services command premium per-case revenue, long treatment cycles of 12 to 24 months that generate recurring visits, and strong referral networks from general dental practitioners.²
That sustained demand for quality healthcare, specialist capacity, and population growth is exactly where the opportunity lies.
The UAE has positioned healthcare as a strategic priority under We the UAE 2031, with explicit targets for capacity expansion, quality, Emiratisation, and medical tourism.

8620.03 - Orthodontic Activities
Under this activity, you are in the business of providing licensed orthodontic consultation, diagnosis, and treatment services.
That covers fixed appliances, removable appliances, clear aligner therapy, interceptive orthodontics, and pre-surgical orthodontic preparation, delivered by licensed orthodontic specialists under DHA oversight.¹
| Category | Scope |
|---|---|
| Fixed Braces | Metal and ceramic. Conventional and self-ligating bracket systems for comprehensive orthodontic correction. |
| Clear Aligners | Invisible orthodontics. Custom clear-aligner treatment planning, fitting, and monitoring. |
| Interceptive Orthodontics | Early treatment. Phase-one orthodontic treatment for children to guide jaw and dental development. |
| Surgical Orthodontics | Pre and post-surgical. Orthodontic preparation and finishing for orthognathic surgery cases. |
| Retention and Monitoring | Post-treatment. Retainer provision, long-term monitoring, and relapse management. |
There are some things this activity does not cover. General dentistry, restorative dentistry, and dental hygiene services fall under general dental clinic codes. Orthognathic surgery itself is classified under surgical dental or maxillofacial codes.
Cosmetic dentistry services such as veneers and whitening, without orthodontic treatment, are also outside this scope.
In short: if you are providing licensed specialist orthodontic treatment, you are in. If you are running a general dental practice, a cosmetic dentistry clinic, or a dental surgery, you are not.
